GRINNELL, Iowa — State Street Lanes, the reimagined bowling alley at 915 State Street, opens its doors to the public on August 23, 2026.
New owners Doug and Erika Jack have spent months renovating the space originally known as the Bowladrome, which first opened in 1947. The 10-lane center now features a full-service diner, craft bar, and modern scoring systems alongside the original mid-century character that made it a Grinnell institution for nearly eight decades.
"This place has been part of Grinnell for almost 80 years," said Doug Jack. "We're not replacing what it was. We're building on it."
State Street Lanes offers open bowling, league play, birthday parties, and private events. The diner serves scratch-made food and the bar features local and regional craft selections.
League registration is now open for the Fall 2026 season, with leagues running Tuesday through Thursday evenings.
