Meet Doug & Erika

Doug Jack isn't just the new owner. He grew up on these lanes, learned the sport here, and now he's bringing that passion full circle.

Together with Erika, they're investing in the 10-lane house, upgrading the experience, and opening a full diner and bar, while keeping the soul of the place that Grinnell has loved since 1947.

“This place means something to this town,” Doug says. “We're not here to change that. We're here to make it even better.”

Buff at the Bowladrome, Doug's mentor and bowling legend

Buff

In Memory of Buff

Buff was the heart of the Bowladrome. The guy who kept the lanes running, knew every bowler by name, and taught Doug everything he knows about the sport and the building. More than a mentor, he was family.

Doug and Erika are building State Street Lanes in his spirit: with the same care for the craft, the same warmth toward everyone who walks through the door, and the same belief that a bowling alley is more than a business. Every lane they restore, every detail they get right, honors the standard Buff set.
